FUTSAL FAQ
Do you need to have Futsal experience to join?
No, FYS Futsal is a place to learn Futsal and develop soccer skills. We are a recreational development league - not a competitive club or program. All experience and talent levels are welcome to participate.

How old do my kids need to be to play?
Children must be between 5 and 16 years old. The age matrix will help determine their division.

How many players will be allowed to join?
Space is extremely limited.
​
Can my team from last season play together in FYS Futsal?
Yes! You can register as a team on the registration page!

Can l request a friend or a coach?
Absolutely, you can make friend and coach requests during the registration process. However, there are no refunds if a team/friend/coach request cannot be met.

Where are the matches played?
All Games are held at Upper90 Fustal Academy in Katy, walking distance to No Label Brewery and the Katy Beer Gardens.

When do matches take place?
Matches are held on weeknights and weekends, never during working hours.
​
What are the match times?
It varies:
Weeknights: 5-9 PM
Weekends 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

How many games do we play per week?
Two matches per week.

How long is the season?
The season consists of 8 matches.

Are their practices?
No, Futsal is unique in that the game itself develops key skills though real-time scenarios that create natural repetition.

Is FYS Futsal co-ed?
Players are separated into boys' or girls' divisions to ensure proper skill development and equitable access to sports, whenever possible.
What if we are new to the league, or don't have a returning team?
Not a problem, teams are formed by the league to ensure fairness and accessibility for all players.

Can I register my club team?
No, FYS is a recreational league and does not allow participation of club or select teams. Individual players from club/select teams are welcome to join FYS Futsal, but they will be rostered to keep the competition balanced.

Will my child get guaranteed play time?
Yes, each player is guaranteed 50% playtime.
​
Does FYS Futsal have registration boundaries?
FYS Futsal welcomes all kids who want to play soccer, regardless of location.

Are there sibling discounts?
Yes, sibling discounts are automatically applied during the registration of the second (or subsequent) family member. Please note that each player must be registered and checked out individually for the discount to apply.

What equipment do we need to purchase?
Players will need shin guards and Futsal shoes.
​
What does the league provide?
FYS provides each athlete with a branded kit, including a jersey, shorts, and socks.

Does FYS have a refund policy?

Are the coaches trained and trustworthy?
Yes, all coaches pass a rigorous background check and are certified to coach soccer. Coach concerns can be directed to compliance@fulshearsoccer.com.

What should I do if I have concerns about my coach's behavior?
All FYS coaches face disciplinary actions for any inappropriate behavior. If you're concerned about a coach's conduct, please email compliance@fulshearsoccer.com.

Can spectators be ejected?
Yes, inappropriate conduct will result in ejection and further disciplinary action, including permanent suspension. Please report any incidents to compliance@fulshearsoccer.com. Please note that spectator seating is limited.

What happens if a referee makes a bad call?
Mistakes happen in all sports. Spectators must accept that referees are human and imperfect.

Am I able to speak with the ref?
No, only coaches or team captains may address referees. Spectators may direct any concerns to their coach, or the Head Referee via ref@fulshearsoccer.com. Remember, all on-field calls are final—there are no replays or reversals.
