Does Fulshear Youth Soccer have registration boundaries?
Fulshear Youth Soccer welcomes all kids who want to play soccer, regardless of location.
Is FYS co-ed?
FYS is not co-ed for players ages 7 and up. Players are separated into boys' or girls' divisions to ensure proper skill development.
How old do my kids need to be to play?
Children must be between 3 and 17 years old as of September 1 2025.
Can my child play in a lower division?
No, but your child may play in a higher division if they wish.
Can I request a friend, sibling, or specific coach?
Yes, soccer is funner with friends! However, not all requests can be fulfilled.
Can I register my team?
Yes, full teams, or small groups can register as one unit. However, all rosters must be approved by the league to help ensure proper balance and parity.
Can I register my club/select team?
No, FYS is a recreational league and does not allow participation of club or select teams.
Are the coaches trained and trustworthy?
Yes, all FYS coaches, youth or adult, must pass a rigorous background checks and become certified to coach youth soccer.
Can I coach my child's team?
Yes. Parents are welcome to coach, provided they meet FYS’s coaching standards and training requirements. You can begin an application to coach on our Get Involved page.
Will my child be placed on a team in our area?
We do our best to form teams with the athlete's school in mind, so it’s very likely they will be on a local team.
When do matches take place?
Matches are held on Saturdays.
Where do teams train and how often?
Practice times and locations are set by the league. FYS will try to choose convenient weeknight schedules, but it's up to parents to ensure their player can attend.
How long is the season?
Each season features 12 weeks of training, 8 regular-season games, and a season-ending tournament.
Does FYS have All-Star teams?
Yes, following the season, selected players participate in additional tournaments against other soccer clubs across Texas.
Is there a wait list after registration closes?
Yes. The wait list is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Are there sibling discounts?
Yes, use code, SIBLING during the registration of the second (or subsequent) family member.
Does FYS have a refund policy?
Yes, full refunds (minus transaction fees) can be provided, up to two months prior to the season start date. After that time, refunds are only given in special circumstances. Contact league@fulshearsoccer.com for more information.
What equipment do we need to purchase?
Players will need shin guards and soccer cleats. Players are encouraged to have their own soccer ball as well.
What equipment does the league provide?
FYS provides each athlete with a full uniform kit, including a jersey, shorts, and socks.
Can spectators be ejected?
Yes, inappropriate spectator conduct may result in ejection and further disciplinary action, including permanent suspension. Please report any incidents to compliance@fulshearsoccer.com.
What happens if a referee makes a bad call?
Mistakes happen in all sports. Spectators must accept that referees are human and imperfect.
Am I able to speak with the ref?
No, only head coaches and team captains may address referees. Spectators may direct any concerns to their coach, League Director, or the Head Referee. Remember, all on-field calls are final and there are no replays or reversals.
